NCCers,
This summer, we’ve been listening to our pastors talk about being missional, and fellow NCCers Tyler and Lydia Lund are taking those messages to heart. They’ve done great work at NCC over the past two years, and have recently left DC for a farewell tour before they move to Nairobi, Kenya, in September to do mission work. Tyler will be working with microfinancing through Partner’s Worldwide, and Lydia will be helping widows and orphans through First Love International.
The Lund’s work presents us with a unique opportunity to pray for and support some of NCC’s own who are heading out into the field, full time. During Pastor Mark’s sermon, One Prayer: Make Us Missional, he spoke of finding a need and seeing how you can meet that need, maybe even selling a personal item to meet that need. That thought sparked the idea of a challenge to NCCers to help meet the needs of the Lunds.
Challenge: Sell a possession and give the proceeds to the Lunds for their year’s work in Kenya. It could be anything — an article of clothing, a CD, a piece of furniture, etc. You could sell it to a friend, or place the item on CraigsList or Ebay.
