NCC MENTORING SUMMIT 2008
Pastor Mark has talked about it. The Bible calls us to do it. You’ve even considered it. But the concept of mentoring can still seem unclear – and even intimidating. On Sunday, August 23, join participants in the NCC Women’s mentoring program as we debunk some popular myths that might be standing between you and the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a young woman in the NCC family – and reap the rewards of investing in a meaningful way.
The 21st century has brought about a new urgency for Christian women to search for meaningful relationships in which they can live out their faith. Particularly in fast-moving areas like Washington, D.C., young women are eager to connect with someone a few steps ahead of them on the path who can point out a few of the potholes ahead and help them recover when they stumble.
In response to an increasing number of college-age women in the NCC community reaching out for these types of relationships, the Women’s mentoring program sprang into action. Now in its second year, we are hoping to raise awareness of the importance of mentoring and gain new insight from fresh perspectives.
Please join us for an informal discussion (and possibly some treats!) upstairs at Ebenezers Saturday, August 23 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon. There is NO OBLIGATION to serve as a mentor! We would simply love to share our ideas with you and hear any suggestions you can offer.
Feel free to contact Stacy Shradar or Angelyn Shapiro with any questions or to RSVP.
We hope to see you there!
