Make One.
For One.

Week of Justice is quickly approaching, and I know John will be distributing more information about that soon. But there are a few things we need to do beforehand! We will kick of Week of Justice on Sunday, July 27 with Sew What?

The idea is to take old clothes—even clothes with stains and holes that Goodwill won’t take—and recycle them by making them into scarves and hats for the homeless community. The event will encourage good stewardship of resources, raise awareness about sweatshop practices, and give some warm clothes to our friends and area shelters.

Here’s what we need:

Sewing Machines

If you have a sewing machine you could donate for the night, we need it! If you have a machine that we could use, email Bekah Kitterman.

Sewing Technicians

If you can sew or if you would be willing to learn to sew, we need you on the machines that night! We also need people to prep material and package the newly crafted items. If you can help with this in any way, email Bekah Kitterman.

Clothes

Finally, we need your old, stained, holes in the knee clothes. Seriously– we need clothes of all kinds (maybe not underwear– that’s gross). Even clothes that Goodwill or Salvation Army doesn’t want. We are going to cut them up and re-use them.  We want to collect lots of clothes at the Summit this Saturday. So clean out those closets!
