For One.

It’s the launch of a new semester of small groups at NCC and that means the start of a brand new leadership lesson series! If you are new to NCC leadership or to the zonegathering, Thursday Leadership Lesson is a weekly article selected or written by a member of our team that we hope will help you grow as a leader.

This summer, let’s think about what it means to “share our faith” with others. Let’s question what we’ve always thought about “preaching the Gospel.” Let’s explore ways to get our groups on the front lines of advancing the kingdom of God. Let’s reimagine, reinvent, and re-engineer evangelism. At our leadership retreat, we talked about Forcefully Advancing the Kingdom of God. Romans 14:10 states that people cannot believe unless they hear and cannot hear without a preacher. How do we talk about our faith in ways that are compelling, relevant, and Biblical? And what does that mean for group life?

Here are some of the topics we will explore this summer:

  • The Substance of the Gospel
  • The Three Stories of Redemption
  • Stories of Transformation
  • Autobiography
  • Evangelism Paradigms
  • Entering the Stories of Others
  • Evangelism Styles
  • Small Groups in Evangelism
