Got another quote for y’all from my seminary reading. This comes from the Perspectives book (if we do Perspectives at NCC this fall or any time in the future — DO IT! You won’t regret it). This is from an article titled “On Turning Muslim Stumbling Blocks into Stepping Stones” by Warren Chastain. It was rather convicting:
“It is easier to sing about “laying all on the altar” as long as we ourselves do not end up on the altar. In order that we might share the suffering of Christ, God has engineered the fruit-making process so that it always involves sacrifice. But people invariably seek ways to turn the altar into a stage for seeking applause.”
