For One.

Wow. What an amazing weekend! We’ll be posting notes, reflections, and podcasts of the weekend sessions and breakouts over the next few weeks, but I thought I’d just start with a few personal reflections.

One, I’m so thankful for our leaders at NCC. It is truly a privilege to do life and ministry with you guys. Thanks for being awesome. I’m particularly thankful for our zone leaders and team leaders who always go the extra mile (or several extra miles) to make the weekend happen.

Two, I’m so thankful for our amazing staff who went a few extra miles to make the retreat great. We have amazing admin folks, media and creative folks, worship folks, assistant discipleship pastors. :)

Three, the staging ROCKED.

Four, Steph and the worship team ROCKED!

Five, I wasn’t able to be in any but my own, but I heard the breakout sessions were fantastic. Well, with the exception of that strategies for growing as a leader thing.

Six, uh…we had a groove lounge?!

Seven, thanks so much for making birthday cards for the Central Union Mission. We made about 50% more cards than we needed!

Eight, I’m sorry I hit some of you with moonpies. My aim was really off this weekend. Not to mention I couldn’t see anything.

Nine, emcee Jonathan Shradar was fantastic. Great job, Shradar!

Ten, I can’t wait for this semester to start! But until then, I’m going to enjoy eating BBQ and fried catfish and playing with my baby niece in Nashville, TN!

If you’ve got retreat reflections you would like to share, please use the comment thread.

  1. Correction on point number five: The “Strategies for Growing as a Leader” breakout session was fantastic! I mean, come on… canned laughter –does it get any better than that?? =)

  2. Great job, NCC Staff! I had a blast. Your session was excellent too, Heather :) Very excited about The Collective, Convey of Hope, and wow, Malawi? I’m there.
