Happy New Year, everyone!
Admittedly, I am off to a slow start with Bible Drills this year and would love some feedback from all of you. If you could use the comment thread to provide some ideas on what type(s) of Bible Drills you find most useful (i.e., devotionals, book overviews, study methods, topical, etc.), it would be beneficial as the Zone Gathering team thinks strategically about how we use the blog this year.
But since I didn’t want a week to go by without posting something, I thought that I would post a short blurb from my “Life’s Little Instructions from the Bible” calendar my aunt gave me for Christmas.
Make your life your sermon.
You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. (2 Corinthians 3:2-3, NKJV)
As I have been thinking about setting life goals, pursuant to Pastor Mark’s sermon this past weekend, this “instruction” jumped out at me. Our lives - our personal stories - are all part of God’s larger story of pursuing mankind and womankind and drawing us closer to Him. If I think about my life as a living epistle of Christ, then what I do, say, and think should give testament to His glory. Others will examine my life to look for evidence of the presence of Christ and the Holy Spirit.
Anyone else find this challenging?

I absolutely find this challenging. It kinda reminds me of that old adage, “you might be the only Bible someone ever reads.” The Bible is a story of people who led extraordinary lives because of the presence of God in their life. I think we should likewise strive to live lives that are worth telling stories about. And pass along a passionate desire for God to the generations to come.
