The Zone Gathering

The Online Community for the Leaders of National Community Church

One.
Be One.
Make One.
For One.

Last night the Zone Leaders got together and celebrated Christmas at Ryan and Heather’s new house (which is awesome), and we had a great time! Hilarity ensued, as usual, as we shared our Christmas traditions and favorite Christmas memories. As always, it was a reminder to me of how important community is and how much I love doing life and ministry with our team.

As part of our festivities, we each brought a (gift-wrapped) book that has had an impact on our spiritual development as a gift for one of our fellow team members. We then selected the gifts based on numbers we had drawn. As each book was opened, the person who brought it explained the personal significance and why he/she chose to give that book. It was a great way to bless one another and to build community.

We all agreed to share the list of books, so without further ado, here is the list!

Confessions of a Pastor (Craig Groeschel)
How People Grow (Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend)
The Ragamuffin Gospel (Brennan Manning)
The Legacy of Sovereign Joy (John Piper)
Devotional Classics (Richard J. Foster)
Boundaries (Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend)
Roaring Lambs (Robert Briner)
Free People: A Christian Response to Global Economies (Tricia Gates G. Brown)
Twelve Ordinary Men (John MacArthur)
The Life You’ve Always Wanted (John Ortberg)
The Practice of the Presence of God (Brother Lawrence)

One Comment to “A Bookish Christmas with the Zone Leaders…”

  1. Can any small group leader guess which book was given by which zone leader? “Free People” shouldn’t be too hard to guess… :)
