We’ve started a new feature on zonegathering called “Google Search of the Week.” We have a little stats program on zonegathering to give us some general idea of where our readers are coming from, and one interesting stat it gives us is google search information. If someone lands on our page because google sent them there, we can see what search got them here. Some are amusing.
Here are two for this week:
Where does Kim Hill go to church.
Kim is one of our zone leaders and a regular (well…periodic) contributor here.
who are some famous group leaders
That search listed us #1. I think because Nathan recently posted “some famous…” in his Weekend Summary and we’ve got “group leaders” posted all over this thing.
I know we have good group leaders, but I didn’t know they were famous. Maybe some day I’ll even be as famous as Kim Hill.

2 funny things about that:

1: right after I got married, I was working at the HQ for the Assemblies of God in Springfield MO. My wonderful husband (and co-zone leader) Brian sent me flowers. By the time I went to pick them up at the front desk, there was a sizeable crowd milling about to catch a glimpse of “Kim Hill,” who was rumored to be in the building. I’m afraid I was a bit of a let down.
2: A couple of years ago, we were at the beach house of a friend of a friend for an Alpha day away. The owner kept looking at me funny and I finally said, “No, I’m not THAT Kim Hill. Hill is my married name.” He actually went to get an album with the more famous Kim on the cover to make sure.
Really. I’m much shorter (even in cowboy boots), can’t play the guitar (though John and Steve made valiant efforts to try and teach me in their small group a couple years back), and am one of those who Mark likes to describe as “singing at the top of their lungs but can’t carry a tune.” (Interestingly, there also happens to be a Kim Hill who recently received her PhD from UNC in political science. We get conflated now and then in my 9 to 5 life. Perhaps we KHs should have a conference…or maybe a support group…)
