For One.

Here are the Breakout Options for the Annual Leadership Retreat. Breakout A will be pre-assigned based on whether you are a ministry leader, Alpha leader, or small group leader. You will have options for Breakouts B and C.

BREAKOUT B OPTIONS
(Choose 1)

B.1 Ministry Session
Ministry leaders will share best practices and plan for 2007.

B.2 Electrical Work: Building Community Online
We’ll focus on why you should consider a blog for your group or ministry, how to set-up and manage a blog, what to blog about, and how to get the people you lead to read and get involved. (Leaders: Pastor David Russell and Nathan Gonzales)

B.3 Surveying Work: Relational Spaces and Community
The word “community” gets thrown around a lot, but what does it really mean? How transparent should we be? Do we need to play more or pray more? There are 4 relational spaces- public, social, personal, and intimate. This session will explore those spaces and how they relate to creating community within the context of your small group. (Leader: Heather Zempel)

BREAKOUT C OPTIONS
(Choose 1)

C.1 Bricks and Mortar: Foundation for Inductive Bible Study
This session will focus on the importance of Bible study in the life of a disciple and provide a general introduction to the three stages of inductive Bible study: observation, interpretation, and application. Discover how to uncover the spiritual truths (“bricks”) of Scripture and apply them to your life through the Holy Spirit’s revelation (“mortar”). (Leader: Sarah Owen)

C.2 Building Materials: Leading in Your Strengths
Mud, metal, wood, concrete…different building materials with different strengths and used for different purposes. We’ll focus on how to find your strengths, lead according to your own style, and encourage those you lead to excel. (Leaders: Nathan and Heather Gonzales)

C. 3 Master Craftsman: Making Disciples
Using The Master Plan of Evangelism as a text, we’ll explore the process that Jesus used to make disciples and talk about practical ways to follow his example as we strive to make disciples in our small groups. (Leaders: Brian and Kim Hill)

Please email Heather Z no later than Friday, January 12 to register. Space is limited for some breakouts and will be given on a first-come first serve basis.
