Every summer, NCC is blessed by amazing interns, and this year is definitely the best (well, at least it runs a tight race with the year that Josh Karrer guy interned with us!). :)

Amanda Norwich recently graduated with a music degree from Valley Forge Christian College, and she has already proven to be a great addition to the team. Last week, a member of the worship team proudly showed me his new 5-inch thick worship team book with all of their songs neatly organized. Amanda kicked out that project in the first couple weeks she was here. You may have also seen her leading worship or playing with the band in various services.

Today, we talked with Amanda about life, ministry, and the frustrations of hailing from Syracuse.

Tell us a little about your background.
Well…I’m from Syracuse, NY but I was born in Brooklyn, NY. I wish I still lived in Brooklyn, cause every time someone asks me where I’m from in NY and I have to say Syracuse, it makes me sound so lame. I get the reply…”where’s syracuse?”Anyways- I come from a family of 5. I have two older sister that are twins. (yes, they are identical) That’s it I guess…

Where did you go to college? What was your major?
I went to school at Valley Forge Christian College. Well, I went in to college thinking I was going to be a theology major but left with a Music Degree..You never know what’s going to happen.

Tell us about your internship at NCC and what you hope to accomplish during your time in DC? What is your dream job?
As of now I’ve been ebaying stuff for Pastor Dave- didn’t go to school for that but I think I nailed it down…haha. I’m also helping out Steph on some music things which is a blast! My dream job?? Hmm I don’t know- maybe be president?? Ha! Or be an intern at NCC for the rest of my life;)

When did you start following Christ and what have been some of the spiritual turning points in your life?
I grew up in a Christian home where it would have been easy to just adopt the faith of my parent but in high school I made a conscious decision to follow him personally.

What is your favorite Scripture passage?
Philippians 4:8

What are your favorite books?
Blue like Jazz…but I’m not a big reader ( I need to work on that)
What are your favorite movies?
Dumb and Dumber..Hilarious! My Best Friend’s Wedding. You’ve got Mail. School of Rock- “Raise your goblet of rock!”
What is your favorite fast food?
You can catch me “grubbing” on some Chipotle..it’s the bomb!

What do you do in your free time?
Shop, sing, play the piano, anything with music, going to shows, watching movies, cooking/baking ( I make a mean batch of brownies), designing clothes, sewing, taking stupid pictures, drinking iced tea.
In NCC:THE MOVIE who would play you? Who would play Pastor Mark?
Pastor Mark…let’s say Jack Black. And for myself Meg Ryan.
