O.K., I guess I need to jump in to the mix of this with my spin on Heather, talking, and notes pinned to her blouse. My first recollection of the talking in 5 year K (and, actually, this was the only time I remember talking being an issue until middle school when her science teacher gave her and her buddies an A- one quarter for being a little lively in class) came with the quarterly meeting with the kindergarten teacher (just prior to report cards going home.) Mrs. Balzli met with us and mentioned that Heather was a bit talkative and had been placed in the “don’t be” chair on several occasions. I honestly do not remember any notes pinned to her. Laura does have a great memory, but she was only three at the time.

another fun, little know fact about my sister is she was destined to become a public speaker (even at a young age)….when she was in 5 year kindergarten, she had to sit in “The Don’t Be” (aka punishment) chair nearly everyday for talking (primarily to her best buddies Jayne and Waylon). She would come home each day with a little note pinned to her shirt saying “Heather talks too much.” My (very upset) parents had to go talk to the teacher to see if she would even pass and make it into the 1st grade.
