The Online Community for the Leaders of National Community Church

One.
Be One.
Make One.
For One.

Tomorrow is the end of the Fall Semester. For today’s Friday Scorecard, I would be interested in hearing your biggest wins of the semester. Both personal and group-related.

A big win for me this semester was the Jerusalem trip. Wow. I am still in the process of trying to unpack that one (mentally- not physically. I did finally get the suitcases unpacked). I hope to take a group over someday.

Another big win was having over 50 groups this semester. NCCers had so many unique opportunities to plug into community and find expression for their God-given gifts.

Finally, it’s a tremendous win to have such a great group of leaders! There was once a cheesy little saying around here: “Community Groups are the ‘Community’ in National Community Church.” But it is true that our leaders make NCC what it is. Thanks for what you do. And for those taking off soon, have a very Merry Christmas!

  1. We just had an all-zone Christmas party this past Sunday night at Jim Richardson’s parents home in Arlington. It was a great way to celebrate the fall semester and connect many different small group members and leaders with one another. A BIG THANKS to Jim for hosting such a large group!

  2. Lisa and I had a great Christmas party this past Monday with our small group. We got really good feedback on evaluation forms we asked our group to fill out. It was really cool to have the women exchange break contact information with each other and set up some social events before next semester begins. We had a very powerful time of prayer, with two women in particular sharing really big requests for us to keep praying about. The bonds are forming and really sticking in our group! It’s been a great semester; I can’t wait for February!

  3. Heather and I are so proud of our zone and especially our leaders in the zone. They have done such a tremendous job loving people, serving people, leading people, and navigating some difficult situations along the way.

From helping the In-Service Ministry to Angel Tree to working on baseball fields, we are especially proud of our groups going outside of themselves to help others.

Now, we’re looking forward to a bigger and better 2006!

  4. Last Wendnesday was the Beta closing night, so of course we partied in Jesus’ name. We had a great time. Katlyn catered. Taneka brought a delicious cake from Stella’s. We wrapped our Angel Tree gifts. Sexy Sherry (it’s an Alpha thing) led us in carols. We discovered that Sarah has a savant-esque singing gift: she accidently sings perfect harmonies, something that I haven’t been able to learn to do after years of singing. Darned, cruel fate. It was an awesome ending to a blessed semester.
