I think we need to consider a Holy Spirit retreat.

There has been so much confusion, debate, and unnecessary fracturing of the Church throughout the years over the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Most of that discussion has revolved around what He can and cannot do (of what He will and will not do).

I think we need to stop some of the debate and let God be God. God will be who He is and do what He wishes, regardless of whether or not it fits our theology. I think we all have a lot to learn.

I would love to do a retreat where we talk about the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts. I think we need to set up some labs where we can experiment with our faith.

As part of the Women in Leadership small group, I was really excited by the fervor for the Holy Spirit shared by many of the women. Clearly, He works. His power and cleansing, inspiration and conviction are ever present, whether we choose to acknowledge Him or not. Coming from a background where the Holy Spirit wasn't really discussed, I appreciated being a part of the Holy Spirit group led by the Sneskos a while back because for me, it allowed me to get to know Him better. I hope that similar small groups arise in the future and we use our existing SGs as places where people feel comfortable exploring and practicing spiritual gifts.
